Earlier in February, Pinetop Brewing Company competed against 118 other breweries at the Strong Beer Festival, which showcased over 400 local and regional beers from several states including Arizona, Colorado, Montana, California and New Mexico. Pinetop Brewing Co.’s Grand Cru took home two golds for the Best in Show and Best Belgium/Trappist Beer. Grand Cru is a 7.00% ABV reddish brown beer with hints of dried cherry, dry red wine, and caramel-like malt.
This is a huge success for the brewery, owners James and Brigid Maloney, their head brewer John Francisco, and Pinetop-Lakeside in the White Mountains. The goal of Pinetop Brewing Co. has always been to make extremely high-quality beer in a sophisticated pub on White Mountain Blvd. They carry beers that no one else in the White Mountains serves including their exclusively Belgium style beers and other fine, bottled beers. As they say, “Small town, big beer!”
Located in the heart of Pinetop-Lakeside, Woodland Lake Park is the shining centerpiece of our community. In the developed areas of the park, you’ll find volleyball courts, softball fields, walking paths, and play areas, while the wilder sections are crisscrossed with hiking, biking, and equestrian trails. It’s also home to a number of different fish and bird species, so don’t forget to bring your binoculars and a fishing pole!
Woodland Lake is a great place to go kayaking or boating. There are also public ramadas overlooking the lake, which can be reserved for a family barbecue, or used during your work day for a peaceful lunch break. You may not be alone for long, though – the park is a great place to run into old friends, and maybe even make some new one.
White Mountain Family Fun Park is fun for all ages. With Fast Track go karts, family track go karts, 18-hole miniature golf, brand new Laser Maze 32, new arcades, updated food menu, and open year-round your entire family will enjoy a day in the White Mountains sun.
